Three women with Muslim backgrounds explore identity, feminism, and faith.
A cinematic portrait of three women who have very different attitudes toward their Muslim heritage, religion, and identity. There is the pregnant bisexual Kurdish activist dancing on the strets of Berlin on the CSD Pride Parade who, as a young woman, was the victim of an attack by the Grey Wolves and today fights politically against the headscarf and the cult of virginity. Today she needs police protection when appearing in public. The liberal and intellectual Turkish woman, although an atheist herself, protested in her youth for the right of Turkish students in Turkey to wear headscarves. Today, she sees a danger in the Islamist politics of her home country and . A young third-generation German Palestinian has devoted herself to political Islam. The student sees the headscarf as a sign of feminist emancipation from colonial narratives. She insists on the self-determination of Muslim women.
